Heart To Heart Resuscitation is about the present. It is about you or someone close to you. My mission as a teacher and therapist, whether I am face-to-face with you in my clinic or talking to you on the phone, is to create an immediate atmosphere of being present “right here, right now” to help you rediscover your own humanity and find the new, refreshed beginning of personal happiness and joy. I teach the Montgomery Model of Heart-to-Heart Resuscitation, which embraces a more personal approach to therapy and counseling. My approach eclipses most conventional therapeutic theories and codes of behavior in that it focuses on your special military needs and dynamics that most civilian clinicians do not encounter in a lifetime. The facts really present themselves that not many Veteran Affairs doctors, social workers or nurses specialize in combat veteran psychological trauma. In fact, most have never looked deep into the eyes or heard the cries of the wounded souls. I have been present with them and will tell you it is enough to tear your heart out. If you or some-one close to you gets this message, I want you to know you are not alone. I have your back!
Foundations of trust and a caring attitude are the most fundamental of human needs emotionally crushed vets require and want from their healthcare providers. And is at the very foundation of Heart-to-Heart Resuscitation.

Wherever the war or conflict is fought, be it in the sandy arid deserts, jungles and mangrove swamps of Vietnam, the mountains, forests and woodlands of Korea, or the amphibious landings on the islands of the Pacific; it does not change the enormity of the human cruelty and tragic events seen and experienced that is beyond many veteran’s abilities to cope.
Over the years of fire fights, mortar attacks, roadside explosives and sniper fire in Iraq and Afghanistan, and after multiple deployments, sleepless nights witnessing unrelenting carnage, loss of buddies- eventually takes its toll. Many warriors share nothing; say nothing.
Today in 2023, tens of thousands of our men and women suffer in silence. Battle fatigue, shell shock, PTSD, TBI, depression, anxiety, and alcohol dependence, which ever name you choose to call it, are all silent killers.
Our invisible combat veterans take cover in plain sight. They return home from combat zones masked in a deep abyss of confusion, darkness, and desperation. For many, the readjustment to returning to civilian life is often a near impossibility without the proper help and motivation.
And so, the struggles begin. But as with any war, the battle against addiction destroys families and claims lives - tens of thousands of lives.
Heart to Heart Resuscitation is based on my personal experiences counseling, coaching, mentoring, and ministering to combat veterans for over 20 years. It is meant to reflect my discernment, sensitivity and observations of the personalities, events, and conversations as well as the steps, strategies and measures taken to bring our military men and women help and hope.
I have taken full responsibility and caution in honoring the anonymity of the veterans, families and survivors around the country who have entrusted me with their heart felt stories. To protect the identity and privacy of others, I have changed the names of individuals but altered only identifying characteristics…their stories are true.

How does Heart to Heart Resuscitation work? The journey begins with rigorous peer-based groups that utilize instructional discussions, storytelling, and team building group activities that are designed to challenge our Warriors to overcome their past experiences and move forward into a life of purpose. Our programs allow the veterans to appreciate the peace of a secure and guarded experience while they focus on the challenges, they face in completing the program.
Our two days a week, 90-minute sessions of intensive peer-to-peer group programs serve as the catalyst to help veterans discover the answers to the big questions in life. Challenges related to the struggles of former daily military life, combat deployments and the symptoms of post-traumatic stress (PTS) surface during these 12 months of groups and 6 months of after care.
The Heart-to-Heart Resuscitation program teaches how to identify and fight through these challenges, which might have been limiting their personal success and family relationships. The Program for men and women is a confidential, and open environment that fosters camaraderie and friendship. Utilizing peer relationships, participants find common ground through shared experiences and understanding and allowing a greater potential for growth and recovery. By discovering the truth about discipline, team building, legacy, courage, honor, and family, the veterans develop authentic character and learn to live a life of leadership. We equip our Warriors to fight through life’s challenges and discover the very purpose for their lives moving forward.
What makes this program unique?
The positive attitude this group creates. The Heart-to-Heart Resuscitation Program is safe, confidential, and genuinely authentic. The group talk is not just presented, it’s demonstrated... through storytelling. We open the windows into the vets' own lives with unbridled authenticity and honesty, sharing from the heart, personal failures to continued victories. We take that level of team and drive it up to a new level of success. We don’t just stand by and say, “We've got your six." We live it. Our Heart-to-Heart Program is truly extraordinary and something that must be experienced to fully penetrate. Attending our groups will challenge your normal limits and positively impact your life forever.
